Community Contribution Award

Are you eligible for a Community Contribution Award?

At Skipton Building Society, we like to take an active part in our local community.

Our strapline is mutualmatters. As well as saying that we’re a mutual organisation, this means that we have things in common with our customers – we have mutual matters between us and we care about what matters to them. A big part of this means supporting the communities in which we are based; this is a fundamental part of what we do as a building society.

As a building society when we sponsor something we are conscious that, unlike a plc, it is our members’ money that we are spending. We are therefore always aware of the trust our members have placed in us and the responsibility we have to use their money wisely, for the benefit of our local communities.

On average we support over 400 community projects, either through direct financial support totalling £300,000, through in-kind support or through the giving of the time of our staff to volunteer or fundraise.

What does Skipton Building Society support?

The Society supports a wide range of projects:

Educational projects - which add benefit to the National Curriculum.

Sporting projects - to benefits the young in many ways.

Money advice - activities and project to help promote financial awareness.

Community support - tackling issues affecting local communities for a better quality of life.

The arts - in the form of nurturing new talent.
